Promax Cellulosic Primer
A nitrocellulose-based sanding sealer/primer designed to fill the pores of all types of solid wood, MDF, and natural veneered surfaces in the furniture and wood industries. It smooths the surface before topcoat application, balances absorbency, and enhances the adhesion performance of the final coat.
Properties
- Fast Drying & Easy Sanding: Dries in a very short time, allowing for quick transition to the sanding stage. Does not clog the sandpaper and features high powdering properties.
- Excellent Leveling & Filling: Penetrates deep pores to create a homogeneous and smooth substrate.
- High Opacity: Successfully conceals natural wood imperfections, providing an ideal base for topcoat paints.
- Mechanical Resistance: Leaves a clean and smooth surface after sanding while providing an excellent adhesion bridge for top layers.

Chemical Structure: Nitrocellulose / Alkyd Resin Combination
Viscosity (25°C, KU): 100 – 110
Recommended Application: 2 – 3 coats
Drying Time (23°C): Touch Dry: 10 min. / Sanding Time: 2-4 hours (depending on conditions) / Hard Dry: 12-15 hours.
Surfaces must be dry and free from oil, dirt, dust, and loose layers. Stir thoroughly before use. Application by air-spray gun (pistol) is recommended. For best results, apply 2-3 cross-coats in thin layers (80-90 g/m²). Allow 10-15 minutes between coats. For a flawless finish, sand with 220-400 grit sandpaper and remove all dust. Ensure ambient and surface temperatures are between +5°C and +30°C.
Can be thinned by 15-20% with Kardelen Cellulosic Thinner.
Recommended 80-90 g/m² depending on surface condition. Conduct a controlled sample test for exact consumption.
1 year in unopened original packaging, in cool/dry conditions (-5°C to +30°C). Protect from frost.
